Josiah

picture of Josiah I'm writing about the death of my baby son Josiah. Josiah lived for 6 months and 23 days. He was such a wonderful son; he was fine and healthy. He was a breastfed baby, and a joy to behold! I was so happy with Josiah, so proud of him! I tried to take the best of care of my sweet baby boy! I told him so many times he would never be sick! He was the light of my life. I felt complete.

Josiah was the 5th child in our family. He has an older brother, 17, and 3 older sisters, 14, 10, and 4. His sister Ashley has a medical condition, Bardet-Biedl syndrome. We knew this could happen again, and were closely watching Josiah to be sure he was okay.

Josiah developed cataracts when he was 3 months old and was found to be wasting aminoacids at 4 months. He was so healthy though, that the doctors didn't think anything else could go wrong. Josiah developed a dilated cardiomyopathy, and was admitted to the ICU and needed to be on life support. He lived 3 weeks longer, finally dying of heart failure on December 7, 1996.

Please see Josiah's Page for more information of his life! Josiah made a difference while he was here. He was my miracle and my joy!

I will always love you Biggy Boy! Love Mommy
