Scott: FOR THE LOVE OF A CHILD

Kathy Malone

A LOVING MEMORIAL TO SCOTT MICHAEL MALONE JUNE 17, 1971 - JUNE 18,1971

FOR THE LOVE OF A CHILD, Scott was to be our third son. He had two older brothers waiting for him at home. Bryan, who already knew what it was like to welcome a new brother home and Lance who would find out what being a "BIG" brother was all about. But for a twist of fate it was not to happen. Something went wrong, and our beautiful third son was taken from us at just 12 hours old. We never got a chance to know Scott but we loved him just as much as we loved his brothers. Scott also would have been a big brother for our fourth son Sean was born in 1973. We have no pictures or memories to share of Scott just the love that would have been in the years to come.

It has been 27 years since Scott left our family here to join those from years before. Since than his grandfather joined him in 1985, and then in 1995 his "BIG" brother Lance was killed in a motorcycle accident at the age of 25. Lance can now show Scott what a "BIG" brother is all about. I know they are together getting to know each other and doing things that brothers do.

Our hearts were broken so long ago with the loss of Scott, little did we know they would have to break again. The deep gash that sorrow leaves on your heart is so hard to understand, the why never to be answered or understood. Only the love left behind that a parent would have given to those children gone before their time. Scott was like a butterfly, here only for a short time, but loved and missed forever by his Mom and Dad..........

A BUTTERFLY LIGHTS BESIDE
US LIKE A SUNBEAM. AND FOR
A BRIEF MOMENT ITS GLORY AND
BEAUTY BELONG TO OUR WORLD.
BUT THEN IT FLIES ON AGAIN AND
THOUGH WE WISH IT COULD HAVE
STAYED WE FEEL SO LUCKY TO HAVE
SEEN IT.

UNTIL WE SEE EACH OTHER AGAIN,
UNENDING LOVE, SCOTT.
