Dennis W. Herman

Linda Herman

Dennis and I were married on September 21, 1963. We have three daughters, Lori Ann Rath (Scott), Terri Lynn Kasper and Cindee Marie Herman Hull. There are six wonderful adored grandchildren. Jordan Michael Kasper 9, Garrett Alexander Matthew Kasper and Griffin Jerome Oscar Kasper. Dennis and I had what I consider a normal passionate marriage. Good times and bad times. We shared a passion for our children and the wonder of being grandparents. Actually what I want to share is the evening of his death. I have always been an insecure person and Dennis was not an especially demonstrative person towards me. On Saturday, July 24, 1999, he worked from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. He came home had a small glass of wine and helped me complete my grocery list. After shopping I made an especially nice dinner. We enjoyed a couple of movies and retired about 10:15 p.m. We went to bed and had a very nice sexual experience (which people of our age don't have everyday and especially taking the 11 medicines he took.) After making love there was some cuddling before sleepy time. He got up went to the bathroom, came back to bed laying on his back and then turning toward me as he always had done. His head just kind of fell from the pillow to my shoulder and I thought he was snoring which didn't see right, so soon. I asked him if he was okay and when he didn't answer I told him I'd call 911 if he didn't answer. He didn't and the rest is history. I thought I'd like to share this as I feel some one from above directed that extremely lovely evening.
