The grief I have for the loss of my son.

T.F. Harrell

My name is T.F. Harrell, I am 32 years old. I am writing this to learn of how other parents have dealt with the loss of a small child. My son was five years old when he died. He was born on June 14, 1991 and died on April 17, 1997. He was going to be six years old. My son, Marvin, came home from school on Wednesday and was playing. That night he started running a high fever, it was about 9:30PM. Twenty-four hours later he was dead. He died of Meningococcal Minigitis. It's both types of Meningitis. The first day after his death was spent in a hotel room crying and wonder how this could happen to our family. My wife and I have not been able to cope with the loss. I seem to forget that he is gone sometimes but when the memories come back I break down. I don't know how other people cope with this type of loss. Any help I could receive from anybody or group would be a great help. Thank you for your time and assistance. My wife and I will seek medical assistance son for the grief we suffer.
